Experience for Driller:

• Experience in the auger, mud rotary and rock coring operating various types of rotary drill rigs for split spoon soil sampling and installation of temporary or permanent monitoring wells. Must be familiar with highway construction requirements and have previous field experience. 

• Education: High School Diploma.  CDL Class A/B is required and 40 hour OSHA Training is preferred but not required.

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience: Two to four years experience in geotechnical drilling and subsurface investigation needed. Reliable, on-time, team player, strong communication skills, safety-oriented, ability to monitor and enforce quality control standards and specifications, familiar with coordinates and GPS units, quality minded and client focused.  
• Competent using Solid stem, Auger, Hollow Stem Auger, Mud and Air Rotary
• Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs repeatedly
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Must be willing to work extended hours when required
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Willing to travel and stay out of town frequently
• US citizen or Permanent Residence Card
• Must have a clean driving record
• Can pass a background screening

Job Description

The Driller’s Helper is responsible for assisting with set up and  operations of drill rig, support equipment and tools, and handling of core samples. To be successful as a Driller Helper at BHD, it is vitally  important to work well with the Drillers, all team members within the  company, and clients, for a organized and profitable operation. 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Preventative maintenance
• Securing drill tools and equipment
• Keeping the support vehicle clean
• Report to the Driller
• Assist driller in all operations
• logging when required
• Tasks as assigned 

Qualifications and Skills

• Must be able to lift up to 50-100 pounds repeatedly 
• Must be able to pass a drug screen 
• Must have valid driver’s license. Other special licensing and permits (CDL) are a plus
• Willing to travel and stay out of town frequently
• 40 hours OSHA training is preferred but not required
• Must be punctual and reliable
